Rules of the SWL DX Toplist

Hi SWL friends,

Let me invite you to take part in an SWL DX Toplist. I’ll be really pleased if you’ll participate in this competition.

Participation in the SWL DX Toplist is open to SWLs worldwide, except Russian and Belarusian SWLs, for reasons given in a following link:

http://www.uarl.org.ua/files/stories2024/list-8-UARL-CC-250224N.pdf

For participation in the SWL DX Toplist, it does not matter if the SWL is also an owner of a transmitting ham radio license or not.

Confirmed DXCC countries (entities), IOTA reference numbers and WPX prefixes are counted for report to the competition. Confirmation by a classic paper QSL card (via bureau, direct) or via eQSL is valid. Only listens on amateur radio bands are counted.

The SWL DX Toplist consists of SWL DXCC List, SWL IOTA List and SWL WPX List. You can report your score for all of three “categories” or only for one or two of them – it depends only on your decision.

The scores will published twice a year with deadlines on June, 30th and on December, 31st each year but the scores can be send through an Update Form anytime during a year.

Your score will be published on next deadline.

No prizes or diplomas will be awarded for participation in this competition.

SWL DXCC List

Only confirmed listens of stations from countries valid for DXCC at that time of reporting are valid for the SWL DXCC List. This requirement guarantees equal rules for all competitors.

Ranking in the SWL DXCC List will be compile as follow:

  • DXCC TOTAL MIX – sum total of all confirmed current DXCC entities, regardless of mode and band
  • DXCC MIX PER BANDS – number of confirmed current DXCC entities from individual bands 1.8 – 28 MHz, regardless of mode
  • DXCC SUM PER BANDS – sum total of confirmed current DXCC entities from individual bands 1.8 – 28 MHz

SWL IOTA List

Ranking will compile according to a number of confirmed IOTA reference numbers, regardless of mode and band.

SWL WPX List

Ranking will be compile as follow:

Competitors count a sum of confirmed prefixes according to a criterion of a WPX award, regardless of mode and band.
